Hello, my name is Jasmine Acevedo and I am an associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Lightway. I provide individual, couples, children, teen, and group therapy in Orange County, and I am passionate about the younger generation, families, and any individual experiencing, hopelessness, and guilt. I love working with new moms who are navigating the challenges of motherhood and know that the pregnancy and postpartum years can be incredibly challenging, while also joyful. I believe authenticity and genuine connection are vital to building rapport and the healing process of therapy.
I specialize in working with complex trauma, victims of domestic violence, anxiety, depression, relational conflict, and loneliness. I love working from a relational psychodynamic lens and attachment-based to help build meaning and insight into an individual’s emotional and mental journey. I believe that every person has unique experiences that have, in some way, influenced the way they relate to others or perceive the world around them. When deemed fitting I may integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT), or emotion focused therapy (EFT) interventions which provide useful tools to navigate challenging thoughts, behaviors, and actions. I also provide unique play and/or art therapy services tailored to children’s needs.
I have experience working with children, teens, and adult victims of domestic violence in both a counseling center and an emergency shelter setting. I also have experience working with young adults as a leader in a Christian church setting.
I work out of my office in Yorba Linda, CA and see people all over Orange County. I also provide telehealth services for those looking for online video therapy.
Outside of practicing therapy, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, studying the Bible, trying new coffee shops, going to the beach, walking, and lifting weights. I also enjoy cooking and baking. Basically, I love food. I work under the clinical supervision of Dr. Brianna Bleeker (PSY32517)
