Elizabeth Johnson, PsyD

Registered Psychological Associate

Hello, I’m Dr. Elizabeth Johnson, and I’m a Registered Psychological Associate at Lightway. I specialize in providing therapy for individuals, teens, young adults, and couples throughout Orange County. My passion lies in fostering supportive, safe, and collaborative environments where healing, personal growth, and positive change can thrive. Together, we’ll work to identify and overcome the obstacles that may be holding you back.

I focus on issues like anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief and loss, relationship challenges, identity formation, family conflict, intergenerational dynamics, acculturation, and diversity concerns. My therapeutic approach is rooted in relational psychodynamics, which means I explore how your past and present experiences shape who you are today. By gaining this insight, we can address any patterns that may affect your emotional well-being and mental health. In therapy, I also use a range of evidence-based techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and emotion-focused therapy (EFT). These tools help clients manage difficult emotions, thoughts, and behaviors while building resilience.

I have experience working with teens and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings and I have worked in multiple university counseling centers with various age groups and ethnicities both in California and Hawai’i.

I work out of my office located in Yorba Linda, CA, and I’m also available for telehealth appointments for clients seeking telehealth therapy.

Outside of practicing therapy, I love spending time with friends and family, making iced coffee, going for walks with my dog, playing board games, and watching sunsets—especially at the beach! I work under the clinical supervision of Dr. Brianna Bleeker (PSY32517).
