Counseling for Young Adults —
figure yourself out and discover where you want to go
Finding a way through your twenties is harder than most people think. In my work at various university counseling centers in Southern California, I experienced first hand the ups and downs of this unique season of life. The increasing demands of college life can leave students feeling spread thin and overwhelmed. Recent graduates are often faced with crippling anxiety about what to do next, or a strong fear of failure. Anxiety about the future can result in self-sabotaging behaviors, feelings of depression, or getting stuck in uncertainty about how to move forward. The years following graduation and into your later twenties can be increasingly lonely and difficult to navigate.
When I work with young adults in therapy, my hope is to provide them with a safe space where they can process through their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. When my clients meet with me in my office in Fullerton, many sit across from me and tell me how stressed, anxious, or depressed they feel on a regular basis. They experience a ton of pressure to have it all figured out and to learn the art of adulting, right now. Whether this pressure comes from their parents, their communities, their schools, or themselves, it can be incredibly helpful to talk things out in therapy, to process through past and present hurts and pain, and to learn new skills for healthy coping and building relationships.
If you are a college student, recent grad, or young adult feeling lost, stuck, lonely, anxious and depressed, or unsure where to go from here, I invite you to reach out to me today to see if we can put our heads together to find a way to help you move forward.
